Effect of creep on corrosion-induced cracking

چکیده
Corrosion-induced cracking is the most widely encountered and studied long-term deterioration process in reinforced concrete. Naturally occurring corrosion rates are so low that rust accumulates often over tens of years near surface reinforcement bars before sufficient pressure surrounding concrete generated to induce cover. To speed up laboratory tests, setups with impressed currents have been developed which rate controlled be high cover occurs within a few days. Extrapolating results these accelerated tests those naturally requires an understanding influence creep deformations on corrosion-induced process. In mathematical models literature, ignored for but considered natural form effective modulus. this work, three numerical increasing complexity proposed aim investigate effect cracking. 15 صفحه اولCorrosion-Induced Concrete Cracking Model Considering Corrosion-Filled Paste
A TCP–TCL model is established to describe the relationship between the thickness of the corrosion-filled paste (CP) and that of the corrosion layer (CL). This model can describe the phenomenon that the corrosion filling in the concrete pores and accumulating at the steel/concrete interface occur synchronously. Based on the TCP–TCL model, a corrosion-induced concrete cracking model, which can q...
متن کاملCorrosion Product Film-Induced Stress Facilitates Stress Corrosion Cracking
Finite element analyses were conducted to clarify the role of corrosion product films (CPFs) in stress corrosion cracking (SCC). Flat and U-shaped edge-notched specimens were investigated in terms of the CPF-induced stress in the metallic substrate and the stress in the CPF. For a U-shaped edge-notched specimen, the stress field in front of the notch tip is affected by the Young's modulus of th...
متن کاملEffect of Hydrogen on Corrosion and Stress Corrosion Cracking of AZ91 Alloy in Aqueous Solutions
The effect of hydrogen on the corrosion and stress corrosion cracking of the magnesium AZ91 alloy has been investigated in aqueous solutions. Hydrogen produced by corrosion in water diffuses into, and reacts with the Mg matrix to form hydride. Some of the hydrogen accumulates at hydride/Mg matrix (or secondary phase) interfaces as a consequence of slow hydride formation and the incompatibility ...
